Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs have been added to the list of players for The Hundred’s wildcard draft on Thursday.

The SA youngsters both made their IPL debuts for the Mumbai Indians this year. Brevis was brought for R6 million at the auction and played in seven matches, while Stubbs joined the squad as an injury replacement late in the tournament, making two appearances.

This will be the second edition of The Hundred, England’s eight-franchise, 100-ball competition.

There are 257 overseas players in the wildcard draft, with each franchise adding a fourth foreign player to the squad they picked in April.

According to ESPNCricinfo, the ‘wildcard’ overseas picks will each be paid £50,000 (R963,395).

Teams will still only be allowed to field three overseas players in their XI, but the ECB hopes that having a backup player in each squad will minimise disruption when players are partially unavailable due to international commitments or injury.
