Dewald Brevis top-scored for MI New York in their six-wicket win against the Texas Super Kings in the second MLC qualifier playoff on Friday.
Brevis made an unbeaten 41 off 33 balls and former Proteas all-rounder David Wiese 19* off 11 as MI New York reached their target of 159 with six deliveries remaining.
Brevis and Australian Tim David (33 off 20 balls) put on 50 runs for the fifth wicket.
MI New York will face the Seattle Orcas in Monday’s final.

Earlier, Texas were bowled out for 158, with New Zealander Trent Boult taking 4-24, including the wicket of Faf du Plessis for six. The Super Kings captain finished a nightmare tournament with 46 runs from seven matches at an average of 6.57.
David Miller scored 17 off 10 balls.
