Dewald Brevis hit an unbeaten 70 off 41 balls as MI Cape Town hammered the Paarl Royals by eight wickets in the SA20 opener at Newlands on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old opener’s innings included five sixes and four fours.

Brevis got good support from Proteas batsman Ryan Rickelton, who scored 42 off 33 deliveries after being dropped on nought, and England all-rounder Sam Curran (20 off 16) as the hosts reached their target inside 16 overs to secure the bonus point.
Earlier, England fast bowler Jofra Archer made a successful return from injury, taking 3-27 in four overs as the Paarl Royals were restricted to 142-7.
Archer dismissed opener Wihan Lubbe with just his third delivery as George Linde took a brilliant diving catch.

T20 World Cup-winning England captain Jos Buttler top-scored with 51 off 42 balls, while Royals skipper David Miller struck 42 off 31.
But their efforts wouldn’t be nearly enough as Brevis stole the show under lights, much to the delight of a capacity crowd.
