Heinrich Klaasen and Rilee Rossouw fetched the highest prices of the South Africans at the IPL auction on Friday.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad paid 5.25 Indian crore ($640,000) for wicketkeeper-batsman Klaasen, while the big-hitting Rossouw went to the Delhi Capitals for 4.6 Indian crore ($560,000) having gone unsold earlier in the auction.
Former Proteas all-rounder David Wiese, who played for Namibia at this year’s T20 World Cup, was picked up for 1 crore ($121,000) by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Northerns Titans wicketkeeper-batsman Donovan Ferreira will play for the Rajasthan Royals having been bought for 50 lakh ($60,000), while the Mumbai Indians paid 20 lakh ($24,000) for Dragons fast bowler Duan Jansen.
Another 18 South Africans went unsold, including Proteas batsmen Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks and bowlers Wayne Parnell, Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj.
