Srikar Bharat put his recent run of poor form with the bat behind him to score a century against Australia A to put India A in the driving seat.
The 24-year-old batted superbly to score 106 off 186 balls (12 fours and a six), in the process recording his fifth first-class century. Bharat added 113 for the eighth wicket with Kuldeep Yadav (52 from 112), as the pair took the score from 370-7 up to 483-8.
Earlier, Shubman Gill had added just 14 to his overnight score of six, while Ashton Agar trapped Deepak Chahar leg before for six, before Yadav joined Bharat at the crease.
Chris Tremain picked up 3-41 in the innings, while Agar toiled for 45 overs to pick up 3-87 at 1.93 runs per over.
Kurtis Patterson (4) and Matt Renshaw (19) both fell before the close as Australia A ended a miserable day on 38-2, still 121 runs behind India A with eight wickets in hand and plenty to do to save the ‘Test’.
