Veteran batsman Farhaan Behardien went past 6,000 first-class runs as the Titans edged ahead of the Dolphins on day two of their 4-Day Franchise Series opener at SuperSport Park.
The 34-year-old, who is also closing in on 5,000 one-day runs, was one of two half-centurions for his side on what was the second day of the new domestic season.
Behardien top-scored with 68 (150 balls, nine fours), while nightwatchman Eldred Hawken chipped in with 52 (100 balls, eight fours, one six) to frustrate the visitors at the start of play.
Playing in his 102nd first-class match, the Titans captain took his career-runs tally to 6,031 in scoring his 41st half-century, to add to his nine first-class centuries.
He has scored 1,074 ODI runs (ave 30.68, S/R 97.90) but has never had the nod for Test cricket.
