Proteas batsman David Bedingham will take up the Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s wildcard slot for the 2025 SA20 tournament.
Bedingham missed the 2024 edition, opting instead to play for an understrength Proteas Test team in New Zealand.
The 30-year-old has been in superb form for Durham in the English County Championship, where he is the competition’s leading run-scorer with 926 runs at an average of 71.23.
He has also been striking it sweetly in the shortest form of the game, with 225 runs at an average of 37.50 and a strike-rate of 163.04 in the T20 Blast.
In 68 career T20 matches, he has scored 1,375 runs at an average of 22.17 and strike rate of 135.06, with eight fifties.
Bedingham will also provide the Sunrisers with a back-up wicketkeeping option to Tristan Stubbs.
