Proteas captain Temba Bavuma says he is still coming to terms with his team’s shock defeat to the Netherlands that cost them a place in the T20 World Cup semi-finals.
South Africa lost by 13 runs to a side ranked 17th in the world to exit the tournament.
That followed a defeat to Pakistan, who qualified for the last four at the Proteas’ expense and on Wednesday booked their place in the final by beating New Zealand.

“It’s been three days but I think I’m still trying to process it all,” Bavuma said upon the Proteas’ arrival in Johannesburg from Australia. “The emotions and feelings are not as raw as they were after the game, but I think in terms of the disappointment and disbelief we had, that’s still there.”
The 32-year-old said “questions will be asked within the group” about the Proteas’ latest World Cup failure and that “answers and solutions” would need to be found.
“I’m still trying to process it all … how we find ourselves in this situation,” he added.

Meanwhile, CSA director of cricket Enoch Nkwe said there would be a review of the Proteas’ campaign and a plan put in place for the next five years.
“I think it is important that we do a review in terms of what has actually happened. We are in the process of putting a panel together to ensure the review is very clinical.”
