Australia dropped to sixth place in the ICC ODI Team Rankings after their 5-0 series whitewash by England.
Australia slipped behind Pakistan after losing four points in the series and finishing on 100 points, dropping them to sixth place for the first time in three decades.
The emphatic series victory sees England consolidate their position at the top of the table. Prior to the Australia series, England lost to Scotland and that cost them two points but after the whitewash, they rose to 126 points, four more than second-placed India.
England’s next series is against India at home from 12 to 17 July, where the Asian team has the chance to seize back the top position if they complete a whitewash.
England though will retain the top spot even if they lose the series 2-1.
