A low-scoring day for South Africans in the IPL on Thursday saw David Miller and Hashim Amla post high 20s in their loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders.
After scoring a match-winning 58 off 38 balls in his last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Amla got off to a good start scoring 10 runs off the first over. He hit four fours in total with two coming off the first over, but only managed to post 25 off 27 balls for KXIP.
Miller also failed to live up to expectations, scoring quickly but losing his wicket on 28 off 19 balls (two fours and two sixes).
KXIP posted 170-9 after 20 overs and were unable to get performances out of their bowlers as a Gautam Gambhir’s 49-ball 72 led KKR to an eight-wicket victory.
