AB de Villiers’ quickfire 49 against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein is our Play of the Day.
Quinton de Kock top-scored for the Proteas with 59 off 44 balls. De Kock and De Villiers put on 79 runs for the second wicket and ensured that South Africa amassed 65 runs in the Powerplay.
REPORT: SA down spirited Tigers
De Villiers was the chief aggressor for the hosts during the early stages of the innings, though. South Africa’s star batsman smashed eight 4s and finished on 49 off 27 balls.
The Proteas went on to score 195-4 in their allotted 20 overs. They might have scored a good deal more runs if De Villiers had remained at the crease.
