Shane Watson hinted that AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli are expected to be back for RCB’s next IPL match on Monday.
Stand-in skipper Watson, in the absence of Kohli and De Villiers, was asked about their respective returns after the Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs on Saturday. His answer was simple: ‘They’ll be back for the next game.’
Kohli, who scored four tons last season, was forced to miss the beginning of the tournament due to a shoulder injury sustained in India’s Test series against Australia last month. De Villiers had a back strain and had to miss the Titans’ One Day Cup final victory against the Warriors because of it.
Kohli has previously said that he’ll only return when he’s ‘120% fit’. De Villiers was in line to play in Saturday’s game, but sat out as a precaution, which means he’s very likely to play against the Kings XI Punjab on Monday night.
Cricket pundit Sanjay Manjrekar asked Watson whether he is a reliable source for information or not, and Watson replied ‘probably no’, so we’ll have to wait and see as to whether both stars take to the field.
