AB de Villiers has risen to 20th place on the latest ICC T20I batting rankings after he topped the run charts during the England series.
The Proteas skipper was comfortably the highest run-scorer in the series, with 146 runs, 39 more than Jonny Bairstow. Chris Morris’ Man of the Match performance in the Proteas’ thrilling victory in the second match of the England series propelled him 32 places up the rankings to occupy 29th on the all-rounders’ rankings. Bangladesh’s Shakib al Hasan continues to lead the way.
After defeating the Proteas 2-1 in the T20I series, England find themselves in second position on the team rankings, just two points adrift of New Zealand on 125 points.
Following the series defeat to England, South Africa find themselves level with Australia on 110 points and in sixth position.
