Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out for up to ten days after picking up a hamstring injury on Sunday.
Ngidi left the pitch at the Oval in the Proteas’ match against Bangladesh due to tightness in his hamstring.
The 23-year-old paceman suffered a beating in his opening four overs against the Tigers, conceding 30 runs. Directly after, he walked off the pitch.
A CSA spokesperson confirmed that he had discomfort in his left hamstring, and would be receiving treatment.
It was later confirmed that the bowler will not take any further part in the match.

Proteas team doctor Mohammed Moosajee revealed he won’t be back for seven to 10 days.
That rules him out of the must-win clash with India in Southampton.
‘[Lungi] Ngidi sustained sharp discomfort in his left hamstring. We determined he had a hamstring strain. He will be out for a week to 10 days,’ Moosajee told reporters.
‘He will have a scan tomorrow [Monday]. We hope he can be ready for the West Indies match.’
The Proteas take on India on Wednesday.
