Australian batsman David Warner and England fast bowler Jofra Archer are among three players former India captain Sachin Tendulkar is really looking forward to watching perform during the 2019 World Cup in the United Kingdom.

Warner recently returned from an international ban on the back of last year’s ball-tampering scandal during Australia’s Test tour of South Africa. The Sunrisers Hyderabad left-hander was the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League, too.

‘I saw him in the IPL and he made a huge statement there. He looked hungry, determined, focussed and fitter. Warner was anyway fit, but he looked unbelievably fit in the IPL. In extreme conditions, he pushed himself and ran hard. He looks determined so I think he’s the batter to watch out for,’ Tendulkar said during a television commentary stint with Star Sports.

Archer, meanwhile, welcomed a solid World Cup debut in England’s opening match against South Africa at The Oval in London on Thursday. The Barbados-born fast bowler, who qualified to play for England earlier this year, claimed the key wickets of middle-order batsmen Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram and Faf du Plessis.

‘I am looking forward to Archer bowling for England because I know, in crunch moments, England are always going to look at Archer to bowl those tight overs. Or if you need a breakthrough, you need Archer to come and give that breakthrough,’ added Tendulkar.

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan was the third player mentioned by Tendulkar.
