West Indian opening batsman Evin Lewis’s unbeaten century for the Comilla Victorians helped secure an 80-run victory over the Kulna Titans, and is Monday’s Play of the Day, writes ANITHA MADIKIZELA.
Lewis’s quickfire 109 not out off only 49 balls saw the opener help his team post a mammoth 237-5 with an explosive demonstration of Caribbean batting that rightfully earned him the Player of the Match award in Chattogram.
The left-hander batted throughout the Victorians’ allotted overs, and his innings was littered with five world-class fours and 10 towering sixes that left the opposition bowlers stumped.

His partnerships with Imrul Kayes (39 off 21 balls, 4×4, 2×6) and Tamim Iqbal (25 off 29 balls, 3×4, 1×6) at the top of the innings helped set up a blistering finish to the innings that saw him score 59 runs in four overs alongside Shamsur Rahman (28 not out off 15 balls 1×4, 2×6) during the death overs.

Zimbabwean Brendan Taylor’s 50 off 33 balls (5×4,1×6) and Junaid Siddique’s (27 off 24 balls, 4×4, 1×6) at the top of the innings were the only notable contributions as the star-studded Titans capitulated once again.
Pakistan’s left-arm seamer added the finishing touches to the Victorians’ demolition of the Titans with a hat-trick in the 19th over accounting for David Wiese, Taijul Islam and Mohammad Saddam, and led to the 80-run victory.
