Captain Faf du Plessis wants the Paarl Rocks to capitalise on momentum after Sunday’s victory over the Cape Town Blitz.
The Rocks lifted themselves from the bottom of the Mzansi Super League’s six-team standings with the win – and will face the Durban Heat at Kingsmead on Wednesday.
‘Every team you look at on paper looks a really good side. T20 cricket is a lot about momentum, and it was really important for us to change that momentum around in the last game,’ said Du Plessis, who scored a fine half-century in the match against the Blitz.
He was pleased to break the Blitz’s winning streak, which spanned four matches. The Cape Town unit are still at the top of the log, regardless.
‘If you look at the leaders, they won four from four and they rode that wave nicely. We need to do that now, we can’t be getting too excited about the one win, we need to work hard again ahead of the next game, and hopefully deliver another good performance,’ added Du Plessis.
