• KZN Inland will be OK without Mungroo

Coach Shane Burger is confident a KwaZulu-Natal Inland outfit minus the services of fast bowler Kerwin Mungroo can succeed in this week’s key CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup fixture against KwaZulu-Natal Coastal in Pietermaritzburg.

Mungroo is part of the Paarl Rocks’ ongoing Mzansi Super League campaign. The lanky fast bowler played in the loss to the Tshwane Spartans, but was not selected for the clash with the Jozi Stars, which also ended in defeat.

Dolphins duo Cody Chetty and Grant Roelofsen are available for KwaZulu-Natal Inland, though.

‘Obviously the boys are really excited about the derby, but we don’t want to treat it differently to any other game,’ said Burger.

‘We get Grant, Lwandiswa Zuma and Cody for this one, so that helps after we lost Kerwin to the Paarl Rocks.’

Burger is keen to bounce back after heavy defeat to Northerns at SuperSport Park earlier this month.

‘I am hoping for a strong response from the boys after what happened against Notherns, so there is a lot of motivation to do well,’ he added.

Squad: Michael Erlank, Mishkal Ramsaroop, Jason Oakes (wicketkeeper), Marques Ackerman, Khalipha Cele (captain), Blayde Capell, Prenelan Subrayen, Smangaliso Nhlebela, Keith Dudgeon, Thula Ngcobo, Daryn Dupavillon, Tyron Koen, Zakariya Paruk, Brad Porteous.
