The West Indies followed up their phenomenal tie with India by claiming a 43-run win in the third ODI to level the five-match series 1-1.
Ninth-ranked West Indies turned the tables on second-placed India, enacting an incredible turnaround after losing the first ODI by eight wickets in Guwahati.
The second ODI was a breathtaking tie, while the third ODI saw the West Indies bowl India out for 240 in the 48th over.
Shai Hope followed up his tie-clinching 123 not out in the previous match with another astonishing innings, scoring 95 off 113 balls (six fours, three sixes) before he lost his wicket in the 44th over with the West Indies on 227-8.
Shimron Hetmyer (37 off 21 balls, two fours, three sixes, S/R 176.19) and Jason Holder (32 off 39, two fours, one six) gave strong support to Hope, but the West Indies were grateful for the late surge by Ashley Nurse, who slammed 40 runs off 22 balls (S/R 181.81), with four fours and two sixes.
Nurse’s late flurry – backed by Kemar Roach’s 15 off 19 balls – gave the West Indies the impetus they needed to end on 283-9 off their 50 overs. Jasprit Bumrah was outstanding with the ball, taking 4-35 off his 10 overs (econ 3.50), with Kuldeep Yadav taking 2-52 (econ 5.20).
Kohli again led the charge for India, scoring his third century in consecutive ODI innings in what has been an astonishing year for the Indian superstar. Kohli scored another brilliant century before being bowled by Marlon Samuels for 107 off 119 balls, including 10 fours and a six to leave India on 220-7.
Shikhar Dhawan (35), Ambati Rayudu (22) and Rishabh Pant (24) all made starts, but the middle and lower orders collapsed as the West Indies bowled them out for 240.
Samuels took 3-12 (econ 3.27), Player of the Match Nurse 2-43 (econ 4.30) and Roach 1-48 (econ 4.80) in a triumphant night for West Indies cricket.
