AB de Villiers has been named as one of six Proteas marquee players for the 32-match Mzansi Super League that will run from 16 November to 16 December.
The 34-year-old, who retired from international cricket in May, will now take part in South Africa’s T20 league as well as other tournaments around the world.
The tournament announced De Villiers’ inclusion on Monday.

De Villiers has played 251 T20 domestic matches, scored 6,649 runs at an average of 35.36 and a strike rate of 147.91 that includes 45 half-centuries and three centuries.
His T20I record stands at 78 matches, 1,672 runs at an average of 26.12 and a strike rate of 135.16 that includes 10 half-centuries.
