Ireland caused the first upset of the World Cup when they beat the West Indies by 4 wickets in Nelson on Monday.

The Irish chased down 305 for their victory, sitting comfortable on 273/3 before losing 3 quick wickets to end on 307/6.

Chris Gayle scored his slowest innings against a non-Test-playing nation, getting 36 from 65 balls. Ireland’s Paul Stirling (92), Ed Joyce (84) and Niall O’Brien (79 no) helped their team get over the line.

    NO ROTATION FOR AUSSIES

Australia will not be rotating players between matches.

Given the extended break between games, no Australian player will be asked to sit out the Bangladesh game on Saturday due to workload concerns.

‘I certainly don’t think there’s going to be any rotations,’ all-rounder Mitch Marsh said.

‘With a week between games there’s certainly not going to be any reason for us to rotate players in and out.

‘The selectors will be picking the best side that they think will win that particular game.’

There will be at least one change to the XI that defeated England, with captain Michael Clarke returning from hamstring surgery.

Vice-captain George Bailey is the most likely to drop out to accommodate Clarke.
