A century from Usman Khawaja clinched a last-ball thriller for Australia A against India A.
Manish Pandey’s undefeated 117 off 109 balls (including three sixes) was the backbone of India A’s 276-6 after Michael Neser (3-47) had done his bit to halt India’s progress.
Mayank Agarwal (36), Ishan Kishan (31) and Deepak Hooda (30) helped to keep the run rate above 5.50 to the over to set Australia A a formidable target.
With rain washing out 10 overs, Australia A were set a revised target of 247 off just 40 overs, which looked way beyond them when they stumbled to 155-5, but an undefeated 93-run partnership between Khawaja (101 not out off 93 balls) and No 7 batsman Jack Wildermuth (62 not out off 42 balls) saw Australia home off the last ball.
The victory moves Australia A to second on the log.
