On this day in 2015, South Africa posted 438-4 against India in the 5th ODI at the Wankhede Stadium to claim a 214-run win and the series 3-2.
The match saw AB de Villiers smash a 61-ball 119, Quinton de Kock an 87-ball 109 and Faf du Plessis a 115-ball 133.
Despite a 59-ball 60 from Shikhar Dhawan and 58-ball 87 from Ajinkya Rahane, the Proteas wiped the hosts out for 224. Kagiso Rabada took 4-41 and Dale Steyn 3-38 as the Proteas sealed a series win for the first time in India.
This was only the second that three centuries were recorded in an ODI innings. The only other occasion was when South Africa set their highest score in their history – 439-2 against West Indies in January 2015, when Hashim Amla (153 off 142 balls), Rilee Rossouw (128 off 115 balls) and AB de Villiers (149 off 59) all hit tons.
