Temba Bavuma’s superb diving catch at gully off the bowling of Duanne Olivier is Khalid Mohidin’s Play of the Day.
It was a dominating effort by South Africa’s young pace attack, which ripped through Bangladesh in the second session of day two.
Led by Kagiso Rabada’s 5-33 and Duanne Olivier’s 3-40, the Tigers were skittled for 147. Despite an amazing display by Rabada, it was Olivier who was truly under the microscope after being trusted with the new ball in place of Morne Morkel.
The 26-year-old took two wickets before tea ,and it was his second wicket to dismiss the Bangladesh skipper that was highlighted by mastery in the field.
Olivier sent in a back-of-a-length delivery outside off-stump, but Mushfiqur Rahim stabbed at the ball to send it flying to the right of gully. Despite picking out the flight late, Bavuma dived to his right with one hand to hold on to a magnificent catch. The Bangladesh skipper was dismissed on 7 as the visitors were reduced to 36-3 after 12 overs.
This added yet another heroic moment to his fielding accolades after his memorable run-out of David Warner in the first Test in Perth in 2016.
