Kagiso Rabada obliterates Usman Khawaja’s off-stump with a superb inswinger in Perth, to earn him the Delivery of the Year at the CSA annual awards.
After a good start from Australia, which saw them post 158-0, the Proteas struck quickly to set the hosts back at 158-1 through Dale Steyn. Rabada then added more pressure on the Aussies with a peach of a delivery, which knocked over Khawaja’s off-stump to throttle them at 167-2.
The Australia No 3 was beaten for pace, beaten for skill, beaten in swing, as he was sent back to the pavilion after a 17-ball 4. The Baggy Greens never really recovered from that, and they were bowled out for 244.
Adam Voges was the highest scorer after David Warner (97) and Shaun Marsh (63) with 27, and he was caught and bowled by Rabada for his final scalp.
The 21-year-old ended the first innings with figures of 2-78 and went on to take a five-for in the second innings, which helped the Proteas claim a 177-run victory.
