We crunch the numbers ahead of the second ODI between the Proteas and Sri Lanka in Durban.

The Proteas have played 35 ODIs at Kingsmead since 1992, winning 19, losing 10, drawing one and five ending in a no-result, giving them a win percentage of 54,28%. 

The team batting first have gone on to win 15 times and the team batting second have won 14.

The highest total for a team batting first is 371-6 by Australia in October last year, incidentally the highest total for a team batting second happened in the very same match, as the Proteas reached 372-6 in a four-wicket victory.

The lowest total for a team batting first is 154 by Australia back in 1994 in a seven-wicket defeat to the Proteas.

The lowest total for a team batting second was when the Proteas bowled out India for a mere 91 in a 157-run victory in 2006.

The highest individual score by a batsman at Kingsmead was scored by Brian Lara, who hit 128 against Pakistan in 1993.

Jacques Kallis is the only player to have scored two centuries at the ground. He has also scored the most runs – 733 in 24 Innings.

The highest partnership is 197, achieved between Brian Lara and Phil Simmons in that match against Pakistan in 1993.

The best bowling figures at the ground was achieved by Ashish Nehra, who took 6-23 in his 10 overs against England at the 2003 World Cup.

Shaun Pollock is the leading wicket-tacker at the ground, with 24 wickets in 20 innings.

Only four bowlers have taken five or more wickets in an ODI innings at Kingsmead. None of them are South African.

The Proteas have won four out of four ODIs that have been played at Kingsmead. They will be looking to make it a perfect five from five when they take on Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
