Our Play of the Day goes to the Warriors’ Colin Ingram for his back-to-back sixes in the qualifier against the Lions.
The match was delicately poised with four overs left as the Warriors still needed 31 runs to win, and Ingram was battling on 32 runs from a sluggish 37 balls with just one four to his name.
Christiaan Jonker was also taking his time with 21 from 25 balls, and when spinner Bjorn Fortuin stepped up to bowl his fourth over, something had to give. The first ball of the over went for a leg bye, and then Ingram proceeded to blast a six straight over Fortuin’s head, before flicking one over the ropes on the leg side.
Thirty-one runs needed off 24 balls suddenly became 18 off 21, and the Warriors progressed to their first T20 Challenge final in six years at a canter, with Ingram hitting two more fours to finish on 54 off 46.
