Dolphins batsman Khaya Zondo is determined to carry his four-day form into the T20 Challenge, starting this weekend.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form for his franchise in the Sunfoil Series, racking up four fifties and a big century to help his side to a good start to the campaign.

Zondo wants to replicate his batting performances on the T20 stage and hopes to bring a trophy with it.

‘Obviously, if you‘re in form in one format, it’s a lot easier to adjust to another format, so I want to keep it going for as long as possible,’ he said.

‘I definitely want to hit it out of the park and want to be picking up that trophy at the end of the season.

‘Those are the two things I’d like to achieve from this competition. I’d love to get a few big scores as well. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get another T20 hundred.’

Zondo is also relishing the prospect of batting alongside T20 superstar Kevin Pietersen once more.

The former England batsman will link up with the Dolphins for the second half of the campaign. Last season he played in the first half of the campaign, with his excellent showings propelling the Durbanites to the final, which they eventually lost to the Titans.

‘I think he adds value to any team he walks into. He can walk into any team in the world,’ Zondo added.

‘He was here last year and was brilliant for us in those first five games. It was the work he did that actually got us to the final.

‘Now it’s the other way around and hopefully, he’ll just come in and win us the trophy at the end.’

The Dolphins will face the Warriors on Sunday in their first T20 clash.
