Pakistan will face West Indies in the second-ever day-night Test in October.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium will be the venue for Asia’s first day-night Test, when the sides clash in the third and final Test of their series.

The first two Tests of the series, which will be be played in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in October, will be regular day matches and it will mark the first time in 10 years that these sides will face off in the longest format.

The Proteas will now take the honour of being the fifth Test side to use the pink ball, when they face Australia in the third Test of their series in Adelaide in November. Adelaide was the venue for the inaugural one when Australia beat New Zealand late-last year.

SA A used the pink ball recently against Australia A, and several of those members are expected to be a part of the side to face the Baggy Greens in that eagerly-anticipated series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board are clearly in favour of making the move to the pink ball, as they are already penciled in to play a day-night Test, again against the Australians, in Brisbane in December.
