English quick Stuart Broad has warned his team’s batsmen of the threat posed by the Pakistan bowlers ahead of the teams’ Test series.
Broad says England’s bowlers will need to continue the good form they showed in their recently concluded Test series against Sri Lanka when they take on Pakistan next month. But he also pointed out that the Pakistani bowlers would have to bowl extremely well as some extreme fast-bowlers have struggled to bowl in the English conditions before.
‘England can be a very very good place to bowl but also if you get it wrong you can go … and generally the real pace bowlers have struggled with their records in England – the likes of Brett Lee, the guys who might miss their length now and again,’ Broad told cricketworld.com
‘But I think Pakistan will pose a pretty dangerous threat because they are very skilful.’
Broad was also complimentary of the whole Pakistan team, but said England looked forward to winning a series against them after losing the last two Test series between the sides; both played in the UAE.
‘They are a very experienced batting line-up, certainly in the middle order, quite an astute coaching set-up – now with Mushtaq Ahmed involved as well, who has done a lot of work with the English cricket team.’
‘It’s going to be an exciting place for us as a team to be and the fact that it’s the only Test trophy we don’t have.’
The first Test gets underway on 14 July at Lord’s.
