The IPL Play of the Day goes to Lokesh Rahul, for notching up his fourth IPL half-century in six innings.
For all of the big-hitters that the Royal Challengers Bangalore possess, one Indian youngster is putting his hand up in emphatic fashion. The 24-year old saw the likes of Kohli, Gayle, De Villiers and Watson depart cheaply, and decided to take the match into his own hands and rescue the side with 68 off just 53 balls, his best score in T20s.
He wasn’t even a guarantee to start going into the tournament, but edged out Gayle to take the opening spot for a few games, and in his last six matches now, his lowest score has been 38, and he’s been scoring briskly, too. His swat over Mumbai Indians bowler Mitchell McClenghan’s head for six was a stand-out highlight in what was his best T20 innings ever.
