The Proteas beat the Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan A) by three wickets in their Champions Trophy warm-up match in Karachi on Monday.
Needing 323 to win in 50 overs, the Proteas’ top three – Ryan Rickelton (57 off 49 balls), Tony de Zorzi (55 off 51) and Rassie van der Dussen (62 off 64) – all made half-centuries.
Captain Temba Bavuma, batting at No 4, scored 29 off 37, before Wiaan Mulder (42 off 30) and Aiden Markram (54* off 46) ensured the target was reached with an over to spare.

Earlier, the Shaheens posted 322-8 thanks to Muhammad Hurraira (110 off 114 balls) and Imam-ul-Haq (98 off 94)
Mulder (3-37) and Marco Jansen (2-44) were South Africa’s best bowlers.
The Proteas begin their Champions Trophy campaign against Afghanistan in Karachi on Friday.
