Former South African bowling coach Allan Donald will take over as coach of the Knights for about a month.

Donald has been brought in because current interim coach Nicky Boje will play in the Masters Champions League in the UAE and take part in the Mumbai marathon.

Boje took over the reins after Sarel Cilliers resigned suddenly earlier this season. Boje confirmed to Netwerk24 that the arrangements were already in place before he took the reins.

Boje will play for the Libra Legends along with former teammate Jacques Kallis in the Masters tournament, which will be held from 28 January until 13 February.

The setup at the Knights won’t be foreign to Donald since he helped Boje as assistant coach during the recent Ram Slam T20 tournament.
