• SA domestic women’s cricket gets big boost

The CSA Professional Women’s League has been rebranded as the Hollywoodbets Pro Series.

The partnership between CSA and Hollywoodbets was launched during an event held in Sandton.

Both said they were committed to fostering the development of cricket among women from diverse backgrounds and every corner of the country.

“We welcome this all-important partnership with Hollywoodbets and we look forward to the immense possibilities it will present to professional women’s cricket and the broader landscape of women’s sports,” said CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki.  “Hollywoodbets has brought about a refreshing perspective to women’s sport.

“Through this partnership, the Hollywoodbets Pro Series is set to embark on a journey of unprecedented growth and success by unearthing and nurturing new talent, while redefining the future of women’s cricket in South Africa and beyond.”

“This is an exciting chapter in the history of cricket in South Africa as the women’s domestic game turns professional,” said Devin Heffer, Hollywoodbets brand and communications manager.

“We’ve seen tremendous success in women’s football through our sponsorship of the Hollywoodbets Super League, and now we look forward to making a lasting impact on women’s cricket with the Hollywoodbets Pro Series.

“Our country has incredible talent waiting to be unearthed, and with this enhanced platform, we can discover the next Nonkululeko Mlaba or Chloe Tryon.

“Working with CSA, we aspire not only to make cricket an attractive and lucrative sport for women across the country, but also to use the influence of these cricketers to pay it forward through grassroots projects and sports development.

“Let the Hollywoodbets Pro Series begin!”
