Former KZN Dolphins and Cape Cobras all-rounder Calvin Savage scored 45* off 27 deliveries (six fours, two sixes) and took 2-23 with the ball as the Texas Super Kings won their last league-stage match against the Seattle Orcas by 37 runs.
Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis scored 72 off 47 deliveries (six fours, three sixes) in the Texas Super Kings’ nine-wicket eliminator playoff victory over MI New York.
Du Plessis then scored 45 off 22 balls (seven fours, one six) in the challenger playoff against the San Francisco Unicorns, but it wasn’t enough as they suffered a 10-run loss.
The Texas skipper ended the tournament as the highest run-scorer, with 420 runs in eight matches at an average of 52.50.
