The Central Gauteng Lions beat the Boland Rocks by five wickets in Paarl on Saturday.
It was the Lions’ first win in this season’s One-Day Cup in five matches.
The hosts won the toss and opted to bat first, with openers Janneman Malan (70 off 91 balls) and Clyde Fortuin (31 off 35) putting on 89 runs for the first wicket.
Clyde Fortuin fell to spinner Bjorn Fortuin in the 16th over, bringing Keegan Petersen to the crease.
Malan and Petersen (50 off 82 deliveries) then produced a 51-run partnership as the Rocks went on to post 240-8.
Fortuin was the pick of the Lions bowers, taking 3-27 in 10 overs.
The visitors reached their target with 4.5 overs remaining.
Half-centuries from Joshua Richards (54 off 72 deliveries) and Mitchell van Buuren (run-a-ball 52) anchoring the innings, with Ryan Rickelton (36), Zubayr Hamza (35), Wiaan Mulder (29*) and Dominic Hendricks (22) also making useful contributions.
Meanwhile, in Division 2, the Eastern Storm beat the Limpopo Impalas by 23 runs in Polokwane.
