• Bavuma: I wasn’t sleeping

    Proteas captain Temba Bavuma has denied sleeping during a captains’ round table event ahead of the ODI World Cup.

    “I blame the camera angle, I wasn’t sleeping,” Bavuma responded to a tweet from The Barmy Army, who shared the photo of him that went viral on social media.

    Bavuma arrived back in India earlier on Wednesday, having returned to South Africa for personal reasons.

    That saw him miss the Proteas’ warm-up matches against Afghanistan and New Zealand, although the first match was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.
