Gloucestershire’s Tom Price joined illustrious company, including SA great Mike Procter, when scoring a hundred and taking a hat-trick against against Worcestershire earlier this week.
The 23-year-old Englishman became only the 15th player in first-class cricket history to achieve the feat.
Procter, who also represented Gloucestershire, achieved it twice.
Price came to the crease at No 9 with his team in big trouble on 45-7 and smashed 109 off 98 balls – his maiden century – before being run out. Thanks to his efforts, Gloucestershire were able to reach 231.
He then took a hat-trick with the ball, dismissing Azhar Ali, Jack Haynes and home captain Brett D’Oliveira in successive deliveries, all caught behind by wicketkeeper James Bracey.
