Keshav Maharaj took 11 wickets in the match as the KZN Dolphins claimed a dominant 279-run win over the Free State Knights in Bloemfontein on Wednesday.
The Proteas spinner picked up 6-43 in the fourth innings to take his match figures to 11-105.
The hosts started day four on 84-2 chasing a mammoth 425 to win and the Dolphins bowlers got into their work straight away.
Pite van Biljoen couldn’t add to his or the Knights’ overnight tally as he was castled by Ottniel Baartman for 27.
Eathan Bosch picked up his second of the innings, bowling Gihahn Cloete for nine, before Keegan Petersen produced a moment of brilliance, snaring Patrick Kruger at second slip off Bosch for a duck to make it 101-5.
The Knights lost their final five wickets for the addition of 44 runs with Maharaj accounting for Patrick Botha, the resilient Rynard van Tonder, Migael Pretorius, Gerald Coetzee and Monde Maqunqu.
Maqunqu was dismissed by a brilliant catch from Andile Simelane at mid-on.
The match between the Central Gauteng Lions and the EP Warriors at the Wanderers ended in a draw, after the Warriors had reached 255-7 at tea, an overall lead of 260.
Matthew Breetzke scored an unbeaten 102.
In Potchefstroom, the match between the North West Dragons and Western Province finally began on day four, after the first three days had been abandoned due to rain and a wet outfield.
Province batted through the day to score 345-9. Kyle Simmonds top-scored with 70*, while Proteas discard Kyle Verreynne struck 64.
Renaldo Meyer was the Dragons’ most successful bowler, taking 4-74.
At Tuks in Pretoria, the clash between the Northerns Titans and Boland Rocks was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain and a wet outfield.
