The KZN Dolphins thrashed the Central Gauteng Lions by nine wickets in their T20 Challenge match in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.
Needing 164 to win, Grant Roelofsen (44 off 40 balls) and Keegan Petersen (73* off 51) put on 106 for the Dolphins’ first wicket.
JJ Smuts (37* off 19) then helped Petersen get them over the line with 10 balls remaining.
Earlier, the Lions posted 163-6, with Mitchell van Buuren scoring 42 off 29 balls and Wiaan Mulder 39 off 27.
Daryn Dupavillon took 3-30 in his four overs for the Dolphins and Ottniel Baartman 2-30.
The win took the Dolphins to second on the log and left the Lions left languishing in sixth position.
