Gerald Coetzee starred with the ball as the Free State Knights thrashed the Western Province Blitz by nine wickets in the T20 Challenge on Thursday.
The 22-year-old took 4-22 in 3.5 overs as WP were bowled out for 116 in 18.3 overs in Potchefstroom.
Coetzee removed three of WP’s top-four batsmen – Kyle Verreynne (35 off 21), captain Tony de Zorzi (15 off 13) and Daniel Smith (31 off 31).
Salieg Nackerdien’s team were 76-3 after 11 overs before losing their last seven wickets for 40 runs.
The Knights needed just 13.5 overs to reach the target, with Gihahn Cloete unbeaten on 68 off 42 balls and Raynard van Tonder making 33* off 28.
