Khaya Zondo played a crucial innings as the KZN Dolphins beat the North West Dragons in the T20 Challenge in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.
Zondo (42* off 40 balls) was involved in a fifth-wicket partnership of 73 with Jason Smith (34 off 27).
After the latter was dismissed, Andile Simelane smashed 13* off four balls, including two sixes, as the Dolphins reached 163-5 in their 20 overs.
Dragons opener Wesley Marshall (25 off 19) gave his team a solid start to their run chase, but wickets fell regularly throughout the innings and only tailender Duan Jansen (20 off 11 balls) troubled the Dolphins bowlers as they finished on 133-9 to lose by 30 runs.
Ottniel Baartman took 3-3o in his four overs and Eathan Bosch 2-20 in his four.
