Dewald Brevis continued his excellent run of form with the bat as the Northerns Titans beat the KZN Dolphins by seven wickets in their T20 Challenge clash at St George’s Park on Monday.
The 18-year-old, who was bought for R6 million in the IPL auction this past Saturday, hit four fours and two sixes in his 46* off 30 balls as the Titans reached their target of 135 with 15 balls to spare.
Theunis de Bruyn (24) and Quinton de Kock (26) gave the Titans a solid start with a 53-run partnership, before Brevis came in at No 3.
Heinrich Klaasen chipped in with 16 before Sibonelo Makhanya hit 21* off 11 balls.
Thando Ntini was the Dolphins’ best bowler, taking 2-21 in his four overs.
Earlier, the Dolphins posted 134-4 in their rain-reduced 19 overs after being 28-3 at one stage.
David Miller top-scored with 57* off 40 balls, while Jason Smith made 38 and Andile Phehlukwayo 12*.
