Wihan Lubbe and Tristan Stubbs hit half-centuries as the EP Warriors beat the Northerns Titans by eight runs in their T20 Challenge match at St George’s Park on Monday.
Lubbe scored 56 off 46 balls, with three fours and two sixes, while Stubbs smashed four sixes and a four in his innings of 51 off 27 balls.
That enabled the hosts to post 163-8, with Lizaad Williams taking 2-29 in his four overs.
The Titans made a poor start to their run chase when Quinton de Kock was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Lubbe.
Gihahn Cloete (23), Heinrich Klaasen (20), Theunis de Bruyn (17) and Sibonelo Makhanya (18) all chipped in with the bat, and Donavon Ferreira’s unbeaten 60 off 40 balls got the Titans close.
Lubbe, Dane Paterson and Mthiwekhaya Nabe all picked up two wickets.
