• Hobart to host fifth Ashes Test

    The fifth Ashes Test will reportedly be played at the 45,500-capacity Bellerive Oval in Tasmania.

    According to Newscorp, Hobart beat out the Sydney Cricket Ground and Melbourne Cricket Ground to host the lucrative fixture, which Perth Stadium lost due to Western Australia’s strict Covid-19 regulations.

    Sluggish ticket sales for the Boxing Day Test and Big Bash games at the MCG cost Melbourne the chance to host another Ashes clash.

    The fifth Test will start on 14 January.
