Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for Covid-19 after experiencing some mild symptoms recently.
Tendulkar announced the news in a tweet on Saturday, saying he has taken the necessary measures to avoid contracting the coronavirus.
‘I’ve quarantined myself at home and am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country,’ he said.

Tendulkar added that other family members at home had tested negative.
Regarded as arguably the greatest batsman of all time, Tendulkar represented India between 1989 and 2013, playing 200 Test matches and 463 ODIs.
He accounted for a staggering 15,921 Test runs, while adding more than 18,000 runs in the 50-over format. He was also part of the India team that famously won the World Cup back in 2011.
