The West Indies have taken an unassailable 2-0 series lead after beating Sri Lanka in the second ODI by five wickets on Friday.
Mickey Arthur’s charges needed a victory to remain alive in the series but were undone by a brilliant century by West Indies opener Evin Lewis.
The visitors batted first in Antigua and posted 273-8 in their 50 overs, thanks to 96 runs by opener Danushka Gunathilaka.
In reply, Lewis carried the West Indies innings until he fell for 103 from 121 deliveries. Shai Hope also added 85 at the top of the order, which helped the hosts make the best possible start with the bat.
It was down to Nicholas Pooran to hit the winning runs in the final over with only two balls to spare.
