AB de Villiers knicked off for zero, following a score of nine in his last innings. He is pure class and will rebound, but the Royal Challengers need their premier batsman back in form.
Kohli, who started the tournament poorly, has turned his form around. He came into this match off the back of scores of 72* and 43, and kept the run going in an innings that spanned 52 deliveries and featured four fours and four sixes.
The skipper shared partnerships with Devdutt Padikkal (33) and Shivam Dube (22), which helped set a competitive target on a tricky wicket.
SK are batting brilliantly, though, and their opening pair of Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson were always going to be central to their challenge.
Both fell cheaply however, and so did MS Dhoni. And while Ambati Rayudu (42) and Narayan Jagadeesan (33) tried to revive the innings, the Royal Challengers bowlers were excellent – Chris Morris taking 3-19 in his four overs – and never opened the door once it was shut.
