Solid bowling displays by Proteas duo Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje helped the Delhi Capitals to a 44-run victory over the Chennai Super Kings in Dubai on Friday evening.
Inspired by a solid opening stand by Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan, the Capitals fought their way to 175-3 in their 20 overs in what seemed to be a lowish total against the firepower from the Super Kings batting lineup.
But, a brilliant bowling display by Proteas pacemen Nortje and Rabada left MS Dhoni’s men struggling to accumulate runs throughout their innings.

In response, CSK could only manage 131-7 as a slow run rate completely hampered their chances of getting close to the total set by the Delhi Capitals.
Faf du Plessis’ valiant effort of 43 from 35 deliveries was ended by countryman Rabada as CSK required 54 runs from the final two overs of the match.

But, Nortje continued his consistent performance by concluding with figures of 2-21 in his four overs, while Rabada finished his spell with three wickets for 26 runs in his four overs.
The disciplined bowling by the Delhi Capitals helped restrict CSK to move to the top of the IPL table during the early stages of the competition.
