The Proteas Women’s victory over England was sensational and came with an added bit of drama after Katherine Brunt did not mankad Sune Luus in the final over.
With the game on the line, Katherine Brunt could have dismissed Sune Luus at the non-striker’s end, but opted not to. Moments later Mignon du Preez blasted a game-defining six.

The England bowler was herself guilty of stealing a few paces during his side’s batting effort and was also not mankad with Ayabonga Khaka giving a warning.
While neither side made much of the incidents, social media has been littered with talk about whether or not Brunt should’ve sent Luus, who watched as teammate Mignon du Preez smashed her side to a famous win, back to the change room.
‘It was Brunt who got one herself when she was batting backing up, nothing wrong with that at all,’ former England captain Nasser Hussain noted at the time.
